What: “Moving Up Into Product Leadership” half-day workshop
Hosted by INDUSTRY
Where: LMHQ, 152 Broadway, New York City
When: April 6, 2020 (morning and afternoon sessions)
Details and Registration

In this half-day workshop, we’ll dig into the role of Product Leader (aka VP of Product Management, Director of Products, Head of Product, Chief Product Officer). We will do some skills-building, group exercises, and safely ask tough questions.

We will tackle some challenging issues:

  • What are product leaders? What do they (we) do?
  • Ways to structure product management teams
  • The leadership career funnel and “should I want that?”
  • Ways to signal interest internally, externally

Who should attend?

This workshop is perfect for current product leaders — those directly overseeing product managers/product owners —  and senior individual contributors thinking about moving up the product org chart.

Most product leaders have little internal peer support for understanding and defining their roles. Our challenges demand fresh skills and organizational strategies, even as product-level work pulls us back into execution mode. This workshop will be a safe opportunity to share real world experiences and discover that other leaders wrestle with the similar issues.

Senior PMs will learn how product leadership differs from individual contributor product (and design) roles. Get a taste of the new challenges, skills, conflicts and organizational ju jitsu of great product leaders.
